What’s happening Beautiful People! I’m Nico Shumpert, a private chef & culinary influencer born and raised in St.Louis, Missouri, currently living in Atlanta, Georgia.
My culinary curiosity sprouted early. As child I can recall asking "why do this?” or “why add that?” when baking with my grandma or watching my mom cook dinner for the family. The science of food, cooking with all 5 senses and sharing the dining experience still excites that inquisitive little boy exploring in my matriarch’s kitchens.
Since graduating from L'Ecole Culinaire in 2011, I have been on quite the culinary journey. To start, I trained under a James Beard Award-winning chef at Sidney Street Cafe, sprinkle several fulfilling opportunities in the middle, and eventually worked up to a leadership role with the acclaimed Kaldi’s Coffee Co. I took all the knowledge I acquired working in cafes and partnered with Gilly Brew Bar in Stone Mountain, GA. In 2021 I had the opportunity to compete in an episode of Food Network's "CHOPPED". I've also worked on other productions with Revelation Media and A+E Network. But you can watch "Choppin' It Up with Chef Nico", my cooking show I produced, on Youtube (link below).
I believe sharing a meal is an intimate interaction that we often take for granted. My goal is to get people back to the table, build an appreciation for atypical food, and equip my followers with practical knowledge that can take an everyday meal from Okay to Oh My!
These days you can find me entertaining my devout foodie followers on social media or hosting pop-ups & private dinner parties around the country.
When I’m not feeding people you can find me gaming, making content or loving on my wife Ebony, my son Camden and daughter Kendall.
